Who provides injectables at BioRestore
When we launched cosmetic and aesthetic treatments in Newtown, our February 19, 2025 announcement introduced Aimee Jaquez, PA-C, as our aesthetics provider. That post describes Aimee as:
- A physician assistant with 20 years of experience, 7 of them specializing in aesthetics
- Licensed in Connecticut and New York
- An Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) Certified Provider for Juvéderm®, Botox Cosmetic®, Kybella® and CoolSculpting®
Our November 10, 2025 clinician profile adds that she has been certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants since 2005, graduated with honors from the Cornell Medical School Physician Assistant program, has clinical experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and advanced her injectables training with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as an affiliate member.
Provider schedules change, so when you book, ask our team who will perform your treatment and what medical oversight applies to your visit. Ask the same question at any clinic you consider.
Botox and Xeomin
At our Newtown clinic, BioRestore offers two neurotoxins: Botox® and Xeomin®. Neurotoxins temporarily relax specific facial muscles, which can soften lines caused by repeated facial movement. The FDA has approved botulinum toxin products, including Botox and Xeomin, for the temporary improvement in the appearance of certain facial lines, such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet.
Neurotoxins are commonly used for:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Other dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements
Your clinician recommends one product or the other based on your needs and goals. Ask which product is proposed, how many areas are planned, and whether that product’s use fits the specific area you want treated.
Volbella and Voluma
Our dermal filler options at BioRestore are Volbella® and Voluma®. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to restore volume, smooth deeper lines and shape facial contours. We use Volbella for subtle lip enhancement and smoothing fine lines around the mouth, and Voluma for volume in the cheeks and midface.
Dermal fillers are commonly used for:
- Lip enhancement and fine lines around the mouth
- Cheek or midface volume
- Chin contouring
The FDA approves individual fillers for specific areas of the face and hands, and it may not have reviewed a given filler for every location. So ask at your consultation which filler is planned for which area, and whether it is labeled for that use. You can also ask for the product’s patient labeling.

How your consultation and treatment plan work
At our Newtown clinic, injectable care follows three steps:
- Consultation. Your clinician discusses your aesthetic goals, reviews your facial anatomy and explains the treatment options that may be right for you. Bring your health history and your questions from the checklist below.
- Personalized treatment plan. We build a plan around your goals, which may use toxins, fillers or both.
- Treatment. Injections are administered in our office.
Checklist: what to verify before you book
Use these questions with us or with any practice you are considering for Botox or fillers near Newtown.
- Setting and oversight. Is this a medical clinic or a spa setting? Who will perform my injections, and what physician oversight applies?
- Injector credentials. What is the injector’s license, training and injectable experience? The FDA advises working with a licensed provider experienced in injecting fillers and knowledgeable about anatomy and managing complications.
- Product and area. Which product is proposed, where will each product be injected, and is that use appropriate for my treatment area? Is the product supplied in sealed, properly labeled packaging?
- Your goals and examples. Does the plan match what I want to change? Can you show examples of results for treatments like mine?
- Complications. How are side effects and complications handled, both in the office and after I go home? What happens if filler needs to be reduced or dissolved?
- Health history. Are there conditions, allergies, medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding that affect whether I should be treated?
- Price and booking. How is the treatment priced, what is the total for my plan, and when is the next appointment?
Risks to discuss with your clinician
Botox, Xeomin and dermal fillers are medical treatments with real risks, and results vary from person to person. Your BioRestore clinician reviews these risks with you before any injection.
According to the FDA:
- Dermal fillers commonly cause bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching or rash. Less common risks include nodules, infection, allergic reaction and tissue death. The most serious risk is accidental injection into a blood vessel, which can cause skin necrosis, stroke or blindness. The chances are low, but these complications can be serious and may be permanent.
- Most FDA-approved fillers are temporary because the body breaks them down, so treatment may need to be repeated to maintain the effect.
- Fillers are not for everyone. They may not be appropriate for people with certain conditions, such as bleeding disorders or some allergies.
- Botulinum toxin products have been associated with facial weakness, eyelid or brow drooping, and injection-site pain, swelling, redness and bruising. In rare cases, injections have resulted in double vision, dry eyes, or difficulty swallowing or breathing. Cosmetic use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Combining fillers and Botox in one plan has not been evaluated for safety in clinical studies.
The FDA also warns against buying fillers sold directly to the public and against needle-free injection pens.

FAQ
Do I need a consultation before getting Botox or fillers at BioRestore?
Yes. Every injectable plan at our clinic starts with a consultation, where your clinician reviews your goals and facial anatomy before recommending any product.
Can I choose Botox or Xeomin myself?
You can tell us your preference, and your clinician will explain which product they recommend for your needs and why. You and your clinician make the final choice together after your consultation.
Can I get Botox and filler in the same plan?
Our personalized treatment plans can use toxins, fillers or both. Because the FDA notes that combined use has not been evaluated in clinical studies, your clinician will talk through timing and risks with you.
How long do results last?
Results vary by person, product and area. Botulinum toxin products are approved for temporary improvement of facial lines, and most approved fillers are temporary, so your clinician will explain what to expect for your plan.
Do you offer injectables by telehealth?
No. Injections are administered in person at our Newtown office. Some other BioRestore services are available through telehealth.
