What is hormone optimization?

Hormone optimization is more than simply replacing hormones.

A comprehensive treatment plan begins with evaluating hormone levels through blood or saliva testing. From there, therapy is individualized and carefully monitored to determine the safest and most effective combination of medications and dosing.

Safety

*Key Findings from HRT Safety Studies (2020-2026):

Heart Health: For women under 60, HRT is considered safe for the heart and may reduce the risk of coronary artery disease.
Mortality Risk: A large 2026 Danish study found that systemic HRT does not increase the overall risk of death.
Breast Cancer Risk: While combined HRT (estrogen + progestin) has a slight, well-known, and often over-stated risk of breast cancer, estrogen-only therapy has been associated with a potential reduction in risk.
Blood Clots & Stroke: Transdermal formulations (patches, sprays, gels) are safer and do not increase the risk of blood clots, whereas oral tablets do.
Menopause Symptoms & Quality of Life: HRT is highly effective at improving bone density and managing hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal health.
Age Matters: Risks increase for women over 60 or those starting therapy more than 10 years post-menopause.
